Introduction

Powerful political, environmental, and economic factors are creating a need to replace high power consuming technologies such as air conditioners with more efficient alternatives. This site proposes that a seawater cooling system be implemented in downtown Vancouver to satisfy this need.

The seawater cooling system would supply cooling to office buildings, removing a building's need to operate high power consuming and environment damaging chillers. This system would save the power used by these chillers and reduce the use of ozone depleting substances in downtown Vancouver.

This site discusses the driving factors that are pushing to replace air conditioning with a more efficient alternative. Then, the site proposes the implementation of a seawater cooling system to cool downtown Vancouver's office buildings as a solution. Lastly, this site will analyse the financial feasibility of a seawater cooling system for downtown Vancouver.
